Sooo, welcome to our Devlog for CYTHON CAT! It's great to have you here!

This is a Metroidvania styled fast paced action game featuring a cute cat named Miru (Meoww ). We mainly took inspiration from Hollow Knight's world design and game mechanics and combining it with Sonic's fast paced acceleration based movement and slope physics in order to make our game.  There is also notable inspiration taken from the soulsborne games like Dark Souls.

Here is a short premise of the STORY:
A game where you are the Cython Cat, born in a world of corruption and mystery. You set out on an adventurous path to learn the truth of the situation, and encounter numerous adversaries on the way. You must battle your way through them and muster up the courage to fight in order to cure this world.

At the moment, we are planning to add 5 chapters of the story, with each chapter featuring its own location. This might imply that the gameplay is going to be linear, however that will not be the case. Areas will be connected to each other and different paths may exist, some unavailable during early phases of the game. In other words, while the story format is technically linear, the actual path the story takes depends on the actions of the player itself and it is modified by different gameplay elements. Miru would need special abilities to unlock certain paths.

What is a CYTHON?

A Cython is a fictional species of feline-like creatures in this game universe. They possess unique characteristics that set them apart from regular cats. Cythons are known for their sleek and agile bodies, enhanced reflexes, and heightened senses.

One of the defining features of Cythons is the presence of a special anatomical trait called the "Luminous Void." This trait is a luminescent hole located in their stomachs, which serves as a source of immense power. The Luminous Void grants Cythons the ability to tap into extraordinary energies.

The inherent power of Cythons has not gone unnoticed by others. Many individuals and factions covet their abilities and seek to harness their powers for their own purposes. Some see Cythons as weapons to be controlled, while others view them as objects of scientific curiosity. As a result, Cythons often find themselves pursued by those who wish to exploit their extraordinary capabilities.
